Strange Days...

Quite a few unique things happened today, and I'm trying to determine which of the following is the most bizarre...

My wife woke up later than me, and I slept in. Usually it's the other way around.

I could have sworn I heard my 14-month old son utter the phrase "give and take." I don't care if you think it was just baby talk; I think I know what I heard.

Took the new car into the dealership for its scheduled maintenance. Found out there had been a recall on the onboard diagnostic system, so they did a firmware upgrade to a part of my car. Made me wonder: Did they put a CD-ROM into the stereo to do so? Did they upload it through the car antenna? And if not -- wouldn't that be a cool way to do this?

Found a video store that has a copy of Series 7: The Contenders. For those of you unfamiliar, it's an obscure independent film about a fictional reality series where seven people try to kill each other, and the last one alive is the winner. Yes. As disturbing as it sounds. And it's been so rare that I haven't been able to find it. Nonetheless, I didn't rent it...

Actually got the trivia question right at Caribou Coffee -- and thus had a 10 cent discount off of my order! (The question was: Which of these three countries -- Chile, Japan or Vatican City -- was the most recent one to make the birth control pill legal in that country?)

Went to Target to buy just one thing. And left having bought only that thing. And it cost less than five dollars.

Sat through dinner at a restaurant with the 14-month old son who was on his best behavior. No fussing, no yelling, no grossly inappropriate behavior. Just lots of smiles and him hoovering macaroni and cheese.

I installed a light fixture from Hope Depot -- and it worked without having to tweak anything. Meaning I did everything right the first time.

Of the above, I would say the Target one was the most bizarre. I mean, who goes to Target for just one thing?
